True Corn Club Story of Warren Simpson Leader and Champion
Warren Simpson grew up on a forty acre Northfield Minnesota farm and, despite infantile paralysis, entered the corn club in 1912. He crawled through his corn to cultivate it and achieved 105 bushels per acre. His prize money and farming knowledge funded education from high school to the University of Minnesota agricultural course. He now teaches agriculture in Lewiston Minnesota and leads club work with the county agent. His junior livestock team won Minnesota state honors in 1922 and placed fourth at the International Livestock Exposition among twenty states. He aims to inspire others as a club leader and agricultural teacher.
