Pioneer Dies In California
George Woodworth a Montana pioneer and prominent Big Hole basin stockman died in Long Beach California of pneumonia. Senator Frank Hazelbaker telegraphed word and will bring the body to Dillon for funeral services at 2 pm in the Masonic hall. He was born August 31 1845 in Ohio and came to Montana in 1865. his career spanned ranching freight travel and politics. He leaves wife Florence and one son George Jr. Funeral will be attended by Wisdom Masonic lodge members and Basin friends.

Court orders return of wine after search warrant dispute
Judge Smith ordered about 300 gallons of white grape wine returned to Val Todovich after a technical fault in the search warrant. Federal agents seized the cargo, broke hogsheads and barrels, and later hauled it away again as sheriff and undersheriff watched. The wine originated at the Todovich ranch near Rock Creek and was moved to Dillon.

Beavers End Season with 14 7 Loss to Powell County
Powell County High School defeated the Beavers 14 to 7 in the final game of the season. Poor shooting was a major factor in the Beavers defeat while Powell regained revenge for a previous Deer Lodge loss. A pep parade and clown band energized supporters around the town before the contest.

Three Year Old Struck by car on South Washington Street
Three year old son of Dr and Mrs H F Best was badly injured when hit by a Ford driven by Raf Dunn on South Washington Street. He suffered a broken collar bone and hip with possible internal injuries. The boy, at Barrett hospital, is described as having an unavoidable accident.
