A Stone Creek area copper mining zone in Madison county near the Dillon line features large veins and multiple active claims. Andrew Mensar, pioneer, has developed the Dealto ledge with a 300 foot tunnel and high grade ore. Widow Martha Thompson Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Martha Thompson widow of J Q Thompson died at her home after a long illness. Born in Harrison County Ohio in 1857 she came to Montana with her husband in 1883 and resided here since. She had been bedfast for over a year and was totally blind in recent months. Surviving are six grown children including two sons and a daughter Mrs Robert Hummer of Dillon. Funeral held at the local church with Rev B officiating.

Death of Frank Browne Saddens All Hallows College
The Inter Mountain Catholic reports the death of Frank Browne of Melrose killed by a live wire at Mountain Consolidated mine during a visit to Frank Laird of Butte. Browne, a former All Hallows student, won elocution medals in 1898 and 1899 and was highly regarded for piety and intellect. Requiem masses were offered by faculty and prayers by students.
