Bannack and Vicinity Sees Prosperous Year with Dredges
The Bannack region reports population growth to about 350 with plans to reach 500. Two new gold dredging boats, Maggie A Gibson and A F Graeter, are in operation and prove profitable. a new drug store opens while hotels and wood contracts expand. Mining in Bloody Dick and Blue Wing districts shows strong ore shows, with several mines and dredges expanding as Polaris prepares a ten stamp mill. The season ends with general prosperity, despite some pneumonia cases and local deaths.
