Distinguished Dillon Mason Is Summoned
George W. Lovell aged 69 died at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre South Dakota after living in Dillon since 1906. He operated a barber shop for 82 years and was active in civic affairs and many Masonic bodies. He is survived by sisters, a brother and nieces. Funeral services were held at the Masonic hall with a Knights Templar escort and burial at Mountain View cemetery.

Youngsters Welcome Santa Claus Parade in Fairbanks
Crowds of children shouted and waved as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus led a procession with reindeer through the business district. Spectators viewed Alaskan attractions including dog teams and a small donkey team, while Santa’s agent Mr. Hammond offered children rides in wheeled dog sleds and donkey carts. Schools Vacation Across the County for Holidays
Pupils of the Montana State Normal college and training school begin a holiday break that lasts until the first Wednesday of the new year. Rural schools close later, most will end Friday December 22, while college students head home for winter recess before classes resume January 8. Beaverhead county high school awaits a Thursday start to vacation and then moves into a new $320,000 building after Christmas.

California Men Escape Injury in Road Accident
Three California residents escaped serious injury when their car swerved off the road about a mile south of Barretts and landed upright in a cluster of willows near the river. Alfred W. Cawest Jr. of Pasadena drove with Sam Cohen and B J Shiffman of Los Angeles as passengers. They were en route from Butte to Los Angeles when the accident occurred. The car was not severely damaged. The men were taken to Dillon by Gilbert Hilde who arrived shortly after the crash.
