December 6 Anaconda news reports Marcus Daly instructed Haggin to close the Anaconda mining and smelting operations through next May. The entire mammoth smelter will shut down and eighteen hundred workers will lose their jobs as furnaces are drawn.
Building Committee of Apollo Lodge No 15 certifies Wm Hermann’s work as first class and recommends him for new projects. Additional certificate from H Stephinn endorses material and workmanship for a brick residence addition. Land Office in Helena Mont dated December 3 1831 gives notice that Homerson Hill seeks to prove his claim by residence and cultivation on the SE and SW quarters of section 33 township 2 north range 4 west Beaverhead County Dillon Montana. The proof will be made before the district court clerk January 1 1880 and witnesses Alpheus Decker Joseph Shineberger Albert Young and Joseph Hainds all of Med Rock Montana.
