Born Presque Isle Maine November 22 1836 later moved to Oldtown Maine and California gold fields. Enlisted 1861 served in California units then 2nd Massachusetts Cavalry captured near London Valley 1864 before transfer to Idaho politics and World Fair commission member now at Post Falls.
