Montana strike threat and deadly North Fork accident
Moulders at the Montana Iron Works in Butte threaten to strike while a fall from a shaft near Walkerville leaves James Marte uninjured after two somersaults caused by a broken ladder. In Ravalli and Columbia Falls reports, several men die from injuries at the North Fork bridge collapse, with a coroner's inquiry underway and a large funeral procession. Additional items note a 260 member American Kootenai council at the Flathead agency, a possible murder case in Ravalli, a venue change petition in Silver Bow, a missing prospector Akers near Anaconda, a sanity trial in Pemberton's court, and a comical telescope bag incident at Union Depot.
