Mutilated Man Found Near Lima Station Inquest Hears Doubt

An August Lima inquest examined a mutilated male corpse found between Lima and Dell. Witnesses described fragments from skull to pelvis and a woman’s drawn portrait in a Bilson, Montana letterhead pocket. The coroner and jury remained unsure whether train No 3 caused the death, or if the man was murdered or died from a fall, with identity unresolved. The body was buried at Lima.

The Montana Saengerbund holds its fourth annual state saengerfest with the Sweet Pea carnival on August 27 and 28 and German singers August 26 27 28. About two hundred German singers visit as the Sweet Pea garden with 54 rows of peas and 304 tubs is moved uptown for blooming avenues. The event features open air and enclosed singing contests alongside the Inter-State fair with racing program agri cultural stock exposition and a large barbecue on Friday.

Walter Scott A M of Seattle Washington will join the physics and chemistry department as assistant for the coming year. He is a graduate of a Indiana normal school and earned A M at Yale in 1909 after studies at Harvard. Scott and his wife plan to reside in Dillon early in September and they bring strong recommendations and Westward experience to the faculty.

Montana Aviator to Fly Daily at Helena State Fair

Montana aviator Terry T. Maroney will perform two aeroplane flights daily at Helena State Fair from September 23 to 28, with possible additional shows at Beaverhead County Fair. A Curtis Aviation School graduate, he has two years of public flight experience and recently impressed in a 23 mile wind in Great Falls. He carried passenger Eddie La during a August 7 flight, the second licensed passenger flights in the state.
