Died Alone in Dillon as Tragic Haystack Accident

Geo Walker a Canadian born naturalized in Washington was found dead in the Hirschman building near the Senate saloon after a wagon holster struck him from a haystack. Coroner’s inquest ruled death an accident from head injury, with judge and jurors signing the verdict.

Boys Band Concert Set for Saturday Evening

The program will be presented at the Boys' Band concert on Saturday night at 7:30 at the band stand in Mach, Ambia. The lineup includes Waltz Penrose, Serenade Nesta, Quickstep Neoga, Polka Etta, Schottische De Gray, and March Nernon, with performers Pattee Pettee Metcalf Williams Thomas Pettee Metcalf.

Arrests and fines tally for Tuesday misdeeds

Tuesday arrests included Tom Dey fined five dollars plus costs for drunkenness. Charlie Van Camp and Barney Duffy paid the same amount. C Ei Lee known as the Salt Lake kid also settled five dollars and costs. John Hoffman charged with cruelty to his team after leaving them out all night pled guilty and paid ten dollars plus total costs of twenty six dollars.

Prospectors Find Four Foot Vein Near Alturas District

John LaMunyon Lafe Scott and AL Watts locate three mining claims south of the Alturas mountains. A vein four feet wide shows no diminishing at sixteen feet with yields of 382 dollars in lead and eight dollars in gold per assay. The claims are owned by the three prospectors and named railroad men Joe Burton Lawrence Selstrom Dan Gutting August Johnson and R W McBride.
