Desperado Kit McGee Gang Routed in Cumberland Heights Raid
Collins and Colonel Jordan lead a pursuit into the Cumberland range to crush Kit McGee and his outlaw band. After a night attack and a dawn surprise, McGee is killed, his followers slain or captured, and fleeing families guarded as soldiers close in. Molly McGee figures in camp tales but eludes capture. The raid ends with Union victory and the outlaw network shattered.
