Beaverhead county shows rapid wool shipments from 1910 to 1912 with rising car counts bags and pounds. The state health board warns license required for bakeries canneries dairies and food businesses with deadlines August 15 and notices filing complaints for noncompliance.
The report notes 1911 1912 wool shipments rising in cars bags pounds and total dollars. It highlights 1912 leading in quantity and price per hundred pounds with $1 210 703 98 in revenue and predicts continued county wool prosperity with higher profits for sheepmen despite past years. Beaverhead County Democratic Chairman Joseph C. Smith says the party is progressing toward the Montana state convention set for August 29. He expects a county central committee meeting in Dillon soon and a Democratic convention to nominate candidates and select delegates. Hyatt alias C C Bernard, tied to Woods Live Stock Co. payroll checks from Spencer Idaho, was spotted in Dillon after passing four checks. Denver police arrested him and held him. Under Sheriff Erwin heads to Denver to bring him back.
Dr F H Bimrose and family drove to Horse Prairie on Saturday and returned Sunday evening. They were guests of Dr and Mrs Donovan. The 112 mile trip was made without a bobble according to the doctor.
Two men, possibly Americans, were hanged near Cananea Sonora within 48 hours. The governor of Sonora ordered an investigation and believes rebels executed them to provoke intervention. The victims are unidentified.
The Anaconda Standard reports the Hump on the Butte to Anaconda road is bypassed by a new boulevard opened by county commissioners and the Butte Automobile Club. Built around the hill’s northern base, the route handles three abreast and saves time with 54 minutes for Anaconda to Butte. The Hump, a historic freighting and bicycle test site, is no longer part of the main road. Ed Law, now with the street car company, was the first to ride the Hump on a racing bicycle.
The City Drug Store showcases a full line of late style show cases glass dust proof shelves drug drawers and cabinets. The store has stood in Dillon about 27 years and aims to thrive until the proprietor becomes a millionaire and retires comfortably.
The Trans continental Freight bureau issues Montana freight tariffs cutting commodity rates 15–20 percent and class rates about 7 percent, with special reduced rates from Texas Mississippi and Alabama to Montana. New car load material mixes widen utility, effective July 22 for commodities and August 22 for class rates. Milling products soap paper drugs dry goods and clothing receive lower rates, plus bar iron pipe fittings sheet iron and horseshoes gain discounts.
Washington reports record foreign trade for the just ended fiscal year with imports at 1 653 426 174 and exports at 2 204 222 088. Free of duty imports reached 881 743 144. non duty merchandise 53 382 percent of total. The excess of exports over imports stood at 550 705 014.

Prof Hoffman from Ames spoke on grain and livestock feeding and marketing for success. A 21 member farmers institute organized with Prof T Shoudy elected president.
Representative Pray introduces a bill creating a mining experiment station in Helena and appropriating 25000 dollars for its establishment. The station will employ investigators to study metal mining aimed at improving safety efficiency and economic development of mines.
