Landmark home of Mrs. Best burned in Argenta blaze
The old Argenta landmark, the home of Mrs Mary Best, burned Tuesday evening when a unknown cause started the fire. She was alone when it happened. Her son arrived from Butte that night and will likely move his mother to that city. Mrs Best is a longtime resident of the area.

Two Arrested Here Face Counterfeiting Charge
Two men identified as Tony Sanfilippo and Lexi Owens were arrested Friday by Chief Charles Nelson and Officer Bob Gordon on counterfeiting charges. Federal authorities took them to Idaho Falls Sunday after they allegedly passed two counterfeit ten dollar bills at Blackfoot.

Local Boy Rider Recalls City of Portland Wreck Near Kemmerer

CCC BOYS CONTROL DELL FOREST FIRE
Dell reports a forest fire at head of Rick canyon west of Kidd. The blaze covers about 20 acres and is described as well under control. CCC crews from Birch Creek assisted using one unit. Missoula sent equipment and pack trains but likely unused unless the fire flares again. Montana Road Load Limits Enforced After Heavy Truck Arrest
Walter Beck of the state highway patrol warns strict enforcement on Montana highways. An Idaho driver was arrested at Reed Point for a 25,800 pound axle load exceeding the 16,000 pound limit. Summer Training School Closes After Six-Week Session
The Normal college training school wrapped up a six week summer term on Friday July 26. Mgr Earl Fairbanks led grades four to eight and taught manual arts for all grades.
