Woodcraft Ladies Celebrate 40th Anniversary Meeting
At a regular Neighbors of Woodcraft gathering last week the 40th anniversary was observed with officers in chairs including G N Florence Hughes and P G N Mary Macull er Talent. Red carnations were given to Bertha Cardinale by Tommy Farrell as Jessie Smith Emma Knox and Bertha Cardinale were elected district representatives. Annie Cashmore became flag bearer for the 1937 term and Annie Cashmore Nellie Nelson Dora Smith presided over the program with Hazel Farrell and Mary Farrell assisting. A birthday cake was presented to Mrs Findling as part of the celebration followed by games and refreshments served by Jessie Smith and Emma Knox.

Montana Sees 77000 Benefit From Social Security Act
Helena Social Security office reports more than 77000 Montanans benefit directly under the social security act with seven programs in operation. Montana has set up plans for six services including aid to the needy aged and maternal and child health while two programs await state action. Monthly benefits begin January 1 1942 for covered workers who retire at 65 after meeting earnings criteria. lump sum options and death benefits apply for those not continuing work or dying before 65. About 9400 needy aged receive cash assistance funded partly by the state and its local subdivisions.

Ermont mine eyed as Montana’s future gold giant
W B Bretherton told Dillon Rotary the Ermont mine 17 miles west of Dillon could become the state’s largest gold producer. The 34 claims cover 700 acres with three workings yielding about 100 tons daily from shaft 19. About 53 to 55 workers live in Dillon. payroll runs around 8,200 to 8,400 monthly. Ore is oxidized and cyanide leaches easily. 40,000 tons of reserve exist with potential for a million tons at depth.
