Dam Break on Rattlesnake Reservoir Destroys 60 Foot Gap
Large pipe and improper packing behind it caused a 60 foot opening in the Essler lake reservoir dam on the Rattlesnake Creek. The 30 foot high, 160 foot long structure built by Rattlesnake Reservoir and Water Co cost about $10,000. Ranchers expect losses near $15,000 due to water shortages for crops this year. City water intake and mains survived with mud cleaning needed.

Shorter Route Considered for Butte Line to Boise
The proposed change would move the line from Butte along Silver Bow creek toward Mill creek then over French gulch to the Big Hole near Ralston to join the original survey. If feasible it could shorten the path to Boise and open up rich country lacking railway service. Sermons at the Baptist church Sunday will cover Lot themes with morning and evening talks.
