Despite a 33 percent seven year rise, the one year plunge of about 2 billion tests business management, yet retailers avoided crisis thanks to strong leadership, with praise for fair play amid criticism.
Beaverhead County Commissioners met in regular session on April 2 1923 with Chairman A L Anderson O C Gosman and J E Shaw present Deputy Clerk J C Fuller minutes approved a 150 claim from Silver Bow for Bert Walls burial was disallowed Fred Crouse appointed grasshopper campaign manager at 50 cents per hour County Attorney Gilbert approved two bank indemnity bonds and the board ordered banks to file financial statements for sureties Treasurer to request statements from other banks For April 3 the board ordered clerk and recorder to purchase a new head for the Elliott Fisher Yook typewriter Petitions from Centennial Valley landowners asked mandatory State Gopher Law and designation of official exterminators James E Doyle and T Fairbanks named as exterminators for Centennial Valley Dell residents request creation of a pest extermination district and appoint a local exterminator signed by ranchers and residents. C E McGee appointed official exterminator in Dell district
Beaverhead County Commissioners approve temporary deputies Miss Afton E. Lloyd and Mrs. T Lee McCracken to assist clerk and recorders office and allow Assessor B W Emerick to appoint deputies as needed. They audit and file reports for March and authorize warrants totaling 10 279 02 with numerous vendors and county offices. The meeting adjourns at noon on April 4 1923.

Miss Clela Stuirt president. Evening service 7 30. Mid week Bible study and prayer Wednesday 7 30. Open to all.
Salvation Army holds meetings Tuesday and Thursday at 8 p m for salvation. Friday features a cottage prayer at 8 p m. Saturday has a salvation meeting at 8 p m. Sunday includes Holiness meeting at 11 a m, Sunday school at 2 30 p m, and salvation at 8 p m. All are welcome.
