Hearing Ends With Bind Over In Assault Case
A preliminary hearing for W. C. Dittoe on first degree assault was held before Justice of the Peace Chas. Hirschman. Dittoe was bound over to the district court with $1,000 bond. The injured Tom Numba testified about the attack while doctors described skull fracture and other wounds. A second Japanese suspect pleaded guilty to third degree assault in a separate hotel incident. Attendance included about ten Japanese spectators.

L. M. Van Etten is appointed United States commissioner to succeed C. N. Davidson who resigned on becoming master in chancery. Cattle Shipment From Big Hole Valley Heads to Chicago
An Anaconda dispatch reports 400 head of prime cattle shipped today in 18 cars over the Milwaukee line to Chicago. The herd, praised as the valley’s finest of the year, was loaded by Rosenstock and Greginmayer. William Mullaney, a former Dillon resident, was elected alderman for Kalispell’s first ward in Monday’s election.
