Al Young Dies After Long Frontier Life in Dillon
Al Young a wealthy Dillon citizen died last Sunday evening at his South Washington street home. Heart trouble and stomach paralysis caused his death after a stay in Hot Springs Utah and a return to Dillon on March 23. Born October 22 1842 in Syracuse New York he became a leading pioneer of the western frontier, driving stagecoaches and later amassing a fortune from a Bedrock ranch. He leaves a Minnesota born brother George W. Young and other relatives. funeral held at Grace Methodist Church with Rev. Hamilton officiating.

Madison County Pioneer Dead After Long Illness
Newton L. Paige a pioneer resident of Madison county died last Monday afternoon at his home near Tageville about 24 miles from Dillon. He was born in Thornton New Hampshire 78 years ago and married in 1857 to August Bagley of New Hampshire. He served in a New Hampshire regiment at the Civil War and later joined a Yankee party to the Far West settling near Twin Bridges. He farmed for 30 years and was postmaster at Pageville for 25 years. He is survived by his second wife Elvira Paige four sisters four sons and a daughter. Funeral was held in Pageville last Tuesday with Rev. Ford Burtch officiating.

He met with Commercial club leaders and citizens endorsing a route from Butte to Los Angeles passing Dillon. Stephen T Reese Struck By Oregon Short Line Train
Stephen T Reese a pioneer resident died after being struck by an Oregon Short Line train near a private crossing about three miles south of Dillon. The body found beside the tracks last Saturday was brought to Brundage mortuary Dillon. Coroner Ford held an inquest and the jury ruled death by being struck by the northbound train. Survivors include wife Ella and sons George Charles and Ed with daughter Alice Reese and Mrs Roy Shebney. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church with interment at Point of Rocks cemetery Pageville.
