Four Men Nominated at City Caucus in Ward Nominations

A large turnout at the court house caucus selected four nominees for the city election. Ward one backed Julius Rounds by 24 to 8, Ward two chose Wemple 34 to 19, and Ward three nominated John Lenkersdorfer by acclamation while also noting Robert J Moore on petition.

Simeon Estes Ranch Sold to Jacob Spitzmiller in Beaverhead

The Simeon Estes ranch near Beaverhead Rock, about 480 acres, was sold this week through Johnson & Boone to Jacob Spitzmiller formerly of the Centennial valley. The price was not published but described as satisfactory. Estes plans to visit Maine and the South before settling back in Dillon. Mrs Norris and Miss Conway left for Helena to establish new homes there.

Edwin Norris was sworn in as governor of Montana at ten o clock in Helena. Chief Justice Brantly administered the oath while Lieutenant Governor Norris and state officials looked on. A brief reception followed in the governor’s reception room.

A five thousand dollar silver service made for the U S S Montana will be shipped to Dillon and shown at Huber Bros. jewelry store. The piece honors Montana and features a large punch bowl and multiple dishes. The Montana class armored cruiser carries twenty main guns and forty in reserve, with 821 crew plus officers and a speed of 22 knots.

Water rights deeded for Graeter power plant at Lovell springs

A. F. Graeter paid 10000 dollars for the Lovell warm springs water to be used exclusively for power for an electric light plant near the Lovell home. The agreement with Phillip Eleanor and John Lovell included a supply of fifteen 16 candle power lights and wiring. Graeter later assigned rights to the Graeter Power Company.

Thousand Cattle Shipped From Local Stock Yards

A thousand head of beef cattle were shipped this week from Dillon Bedrock and Monida stock yards. Buyers Smith and Murnan of Denver and W S Tash of this city arranged the sale. Tash says the entire lot sold within seven days. Cattle originated in Beaverhead valley Grasshopper Big Hole Horse Prairie and Lemhi county Idaho.

Birrer Wins Contract for New Monida Store Building

Frank P. Birrer secured the contract to construct a brick one story store building for B. H. Paul in Monida. The structure will measure 30 by 60 feet.
