The State Normal reports a record opening with enrollment swelling beyond last year. Attendance already nears eighty nine on the first days, with many students from across the state and a large number of classes already filled, prompting plans to add sections and faculty.
An elder prospector Jailson MccAlister, known locally for burning hills for precious minerals, died at Bloody Ditch Creek near the Rockies frontier. The accident occurred around early September while he worked alone. his body was found days later. The trail of injuries suggested a catastrophic collapse or crush. Local elders note his long involvement in prospecting and his prominence in the county.
