Yellowstone Leads State Tax Cuts Yet Faces High Rates
Yellowstone county will pay the lowest tax per thousand in Montana this year while Musselshell leads in higher levies. Cascade and Silver Bow show large increases, with Yellowstone’s drop mainly due to eliminating a 1952 road levy. The Montana Taxpayers association notes 28 counties will be lower than 1952, 25 higher, three unchanged.
