Cattle Movements Slow Yet Heavy Hay Boosts Basin Feeds

Rangers are being shipped as cattle movement in the county slows. Most Big Hole basin ranchers have bought steers for winter feeding ahead of spring markets. Over two thirds moved to the Basin where hay is abundant and stock quality looks strong. Bedrock and Horse Prairie ranchers finish roundup with few sales. Sixty cattle cars will depart Bedrock for Eastern markets this week including cattle of Martin Barrett Mrs. Thos. Pierce and D. E. Metlen. A. J. Yeaman of Junction Idaho also ships east. Range conditions were excellent this summer and winter stock should fare well due to heavy hay crops and low expected losses.
