Tragic Pole Wood Accident Claims Dewey Native
Arthur Trueman 23, livery worker from Beaverhead county, died when a broke brake lever and loosened binding pole caused his wagon to overturn on a steep Dewey hill. The team ran away, he was crushed under wheels, and his funeral was held at Dewey with many mourners. Doctor M A Walker investigated, ruled no inquest, and alerted local authorities.

P. D. McGough, once a prominent Beaverhead county figure, died Sunday in Galena Illinois after years of frail health. Born in Kilarny Ireland, he moved to Montana in the 1870s, served as county clerk and recorder for four terms, and held roles as police magistrate and school clerk. He was a charter member of Dillon A O U W with a $2000 policy payable to his widow, Mary.

Idaho Circuit Races Halted After Carlsbad Knee Injury
Chris Snyder returned home after following races on the Idaho circuit. His speedy gelding Carlsbad hurt his knee after leaving Pocatello and did not start in Boise. Carlsbad Scotch Pirate and another horse owned by William Dingley traveled from Dillon to Seattle to enter the Washington circuit.
