Montana freight carloadings in August reached 36 197 up 2 04 percent from 35 356 in August 1948 cattle shipments rose by 897 more cars to 4487 with gains also seen in fruits vegetables dried peas oats mustard seed hay and other items while decreases appeared in 20 freight categories including ore coal and lumber.
