Mining investors inspect Polaris Silver Fissure property

A. J. Seligman and D. J. Fagensen two New York mining men tied to several Montana properties visited the Silver Fissure company at Polaris. They spent a day inspecting the mine with Mr. Anderson and returned to Dillon pleased with the outlook for a big year as crews prepare for development and expect high grade silver and copper ore to be mined soon.

A new group of ten Beaverhead county youths departed yesterday afternoon for Vancouver barracks to enter the limited service. The contingent includes Fred Hungate, Dell, Clarence Glen, Bannack. Man Dougherty Arrested for Sedition in Dillon

A man named Tom Dougherty was arrested at Armstead and brought to Dillon where a sedition charge was filed. Witnesses allege he proclaimed he was an LW W and defined it as a detective or spy for the Kaiser.

War Work Committee Formed to Campaign in Beaverhead

The War Work committee met Tuesday to appoint precinct captains in Beaverhead County. Names will be announced next week. Seven organizations will run a single combined drive per President Wilson’s request to avoid duplication and competition. Patrons will contribute to a seven-fold effort in one sum.

Funeral for Melville Lougheed and infant held in city

The funeral of the late Mrs. Melville Lougheed and her infant son was held Friday afternoon at St James Episcopal Church. Rev. R J Jensen officiated at two o clock with special music by a quartet. Subscriptions Pour In For Fourth Liberty Bond Drive

Subscriptions to the Fourth Liberty Bond drive continue at the office of county chairman Frank Hazelaker. Total nearing four hundred fifty thousand dollars with subscriptions accepted until October 19. Beaverhead Soldier Dies of Influenza at Camp Dodge

Ole M. Crogan of Beaverhead County died of Spanish influenza at Camp Dodge Iowa on October six. Born in Clarkfield Minnesota twenty seven years ago he moved to Dillon and married Elizabeth Sivanus on June twentieth last. He served with the Beaverhead Contingent and is survived by his wife in Missoula and by a father and brother in Billings.
