Governor to push bond referendum for Montana state institutions
Gov. Sam C. Ford said he will urge the next legislature to approve a referendum authorizing the issuance of seven to ten million dollars in bonds to raise state custodial and educational facilities to required standards. Only four and a half million is available, with more requests exceeding eleven million from the Postwar Planning and Construction Commission. The board also planned to report institutional needs and denied milk price differential petitions from Safeway and Sawyer Stores due to insufficient surveys of distribution costs and unclear cash and carry definitions.
