Silver Takes Another Leap to Highest Price Since 1860
The New York silver price rose to 1.35 per ounce on Saturday, the highest since 1860, with Montana miners paid on Gotham quotations. A. M. Alderson of the Montana Mining Association notes 1859 as the previous peak and predicts sustained high prices due to gold scarcity and global demand. He says Montana mines and copper and gold properties will benefit as ore yields include higher silver content. He foresees the price remaining elevated for years amid strong market factors.

Carl Spencer a 24 year old former Army man died after several weeks illness. Funeral services were conducted at the Dillon Methodist church with Rev. H. G. Humphrey officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery. He was born in Pennsylvania and came to this county with his parents who farmed nearby. He is survived by his parents three brothers and two sisters Albert Alfred Ivan Rose Hill and Minnie Spencer.

Over half of county taxpayers have paid taxes to the county treasurer with about 176000 dollars in taxes already collected. A final week remains and all must be paid by six o'clock December 1 to avoid delinquency and a ten percent assessment. The closing date extended one day due to November 30 falling on Sunday.
Former Dillon Man Charles Gooch Dies in Salt Lake City
Word reached Dillon that Charles Gooch, a former local saloon operator and miner, died in Salt Lake City after a yearlong illness. He passed away last Wednesday and was buried there. He left Dillon about ten years ago to reside in Salt Lake City.

Aged Matron Mary Mahalisch Dies at Rebich Ranch
Mrs. Mary Mahalisch aged 75 died last Friday at the Joseph Rebich ranch north of town. General breaking down due to old age listed as the cause. Born in Austria the deceased funeral was held Saturday at St. Rose Catholic church with Rev Father Foley officiating. Interment followed in Mountain View cemetery.

Grocery Store Burglarized at Forsgren Shop
Thieves broke into J. W. Forsgren’s grocery last Thursday evening through a rear window and stole about thirty dollars from the safe which had been left unlocked. Early in the evening and no arrests have been made.

Forgery Suspect Arrested After Check Passing

Young man charged with grand larceny in court
