Nighttime warning to Montana walkers from patrol
Montana Highway Patrol supervisor Glenn M. Schultz warns walkers about dangerous habits such as crossing between intersections, dashing out from behind cars, and stepping off curbs. He cites National Safety Council data showing one third of urban pedestrian fatalities in 1953 occurred while crossing between intersections. The patrol backs the November Pedestrian Safety program and urges walkers to take responsibility for their own safety.
