The state sold about seventy acres in Meagher and Fergus counties to the Montana railroad for a right of way extending its line from Harlowton to Lewistown. The price was ten dollars per acre. Isabell Walling attempted suicide by swallowing antiseptic tablets at a Billings resort but a doctor and stomach pump saved her. Joseph Prelusx was convicted of assaulting a Chateau county girl while she herded sheep and sentenced to five years in prison. He caused a stir by claiming the court attorney did not defend him properly and later said he had escaped from custody prior to extradition and conviction.
Bids are invited for a county timber project with bidder addresses directed to the County Clerk. The notice calls for bids by a fixed date and reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
In the District Court of Beaverhead County Montana Orr Electric Power Company seeks dissolution. The court fixes November 17, 1902 at 10 a.m. to hear the application.
