Queen of the Hills mine progress and plans
Emerson Hill of the Copper Queen Mining and Smelting Co reports 550 feet of shaft on the Queen vein with a drift to the Nellie vein. About 12,000 feet of crosscuts shafts and upraises have been done for prospecting and improved equipment. The 15 ton mill and pumps are powered from Salmon City, seven miles away, with capacity for fifty men who could mine one ton of ore daily at full operation. The mine shows higher grade ore at depth but a shift toward base minerals, in a granite host with quartz veins and oxidized iron. The Copper Queen Mining & Smelting Co was organized in 1905 with $500,000 capital. Geo H. Crosby president. Emerson Hill vice-president and general manager. A J McLennan secretary and treasurer.

Scenic Theatre Adopts New Motion Picture Machine
Earl Wheat, manager of the Scenic theatre, visited Butte last week to secure a new motion picture machine and new film contracts. The venue will shift to all moving pictures with vaudeville ending, admission cut to 15 cents for adults and 10 cents for children, and a five piece orchestra to begin once arrangements are complete.

Exciting Motorcycle Races At Fair Grounds
A large crowd watched four riders in three races at the fair grounds last Sunday afternoon. E. E. Marcoe and Victor Grace of Dillon Plumbing and Heating, T. K Juleson of Dillon Novelty Works, and Fred Wood competed. The two mile opening race drew strong times and lively action for spectators.

Four lap race won by Marcoe with Grace second in 2 57. The three mile race saw Julson take first and Grace second in 4 45. The final four mile race ended with Grace winning after Juleson earned second money in 5 18 as the Dillon brass band played between races.
