About 2,000 of roughly 3,000 questionnaires returned show broad taxpayer dissatisfaction with current tax law. Results favor property classification, urge definite pledges from candidates, and back various reforms including budget system endorsement with a large 1,600 to 95 margin.
The Federal Reserve Board orders reserve and member banks to favor livestock loans to assist western cattle growers whose loans were cut off by the War Finance Corporation. Senator Kendrick of Wyoming says the board may rediscount cattle paper to back federal reserve banks in cattle districts. Applications for auto license renewals are moving slowly in Montana. An inspector may be sent to assist sheriffs, though officials hope this is brief.
The Wranglers club will hold its annual banquet at the Andrus hotel on Thursday evening May 27 at 8 o clock. This year's event honors Mr and Mrs Martin Barrett Mrs William Roe and the State Bank of Dillon, donors of the hospital for Dillon and Beaverhead county. Plates cost 225 per seat.
