A concert from Montana State Normal College auditorium will be broadcast nationwide via NBC. The Little Symphony orchestra and the girls glee club with soloists William Bates Albert Schiselbein Fred Gray Ralph McFadden Ruth Buckon and Bonnie Eakman perform. A test broadcast aired last Thursday on KGIR Butte and the Dillon group airs at 11 pm via KOA KSL KPO KECA KBFD KJR KEX and KGA. This marks the first Dillon radio origin.

Oregon Short Line Bridge Destroyed Near Bong Station
Fire of unknown origin destroyed a bridge on the Oregon Short Line near Bong station north of Dillon last Thursday night. Southbound and northbound passenger trains were delayed for hours while crews rushed to the scene and completed temporary repairs by six Friday morning. Permanent repairs are underway this week. Oregon Short Line officials visited the city Friday. Ranchers noticed the fire which had gained headway before it could be extinguished.

Ben Holzer Dies After Lingering Illness at 69
Ben Holzer 69 a well known county ranch laborer died at his Dillon home Saturday morning after a lingering illness. native of Switzerland he had worked at the London ranch for several years. Funeral services were Monday at Brundage chapel with Rev Father F X Lechner of St Rose church officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View cemetery.

Montana Stockmen Push Deportation of Police Dog
Montana stockgrowers will urge the state legislature to exile a police dog accused of cattle killings. At the Montana Stockgrowers Association annual meeting in Great Falls, Dr. John A. Donovan said the resolution calls for deporting the canine, described as predatory by cattle raisers who report herd losses. A Shelby-area stockman labeled the dog a killer whose exploits forced county dog hunters into action.

Wind-fanned blaze destroys Bert Selway ranch home near Dillon
A noon Saturday fire three miles south of Dillon, sparked by a defective flue and driven by high wind, destroyed Bert Selway’s ranch house. Neighbors and the Dillon volunteers battled the blaze. nearly all furnishings were saved, but the home was a total loss with no insurance.

Wind Storm Ravages Big Hole Basin and Dillon Area
A severe wind storm last Saturday caused extensive damage across the county. In the Big Hole basin a roof blew from a ranch building, hay derricks toppled, and other ranches suffered damage. In Dillon trees shed branches, flora was damaged, radio aerials fell, and dust covered homes. No rain accompanied the storm.

Three Dillon Students to Receive Degrees at State University
Mary Virginia Ballard Georgia Mae Metlen and James Price all of Dillon will be awarded bachelor of arts degrees at the commencement exercises for the class of 1932 on June 6. A total of 180 students will graduate this year, 66 with teaching certificates. The School of Business Administration leads with 24 graduates, followed by Forestry and English with 18 each, and Journalism with 16 students. Georgia Mae Metlen chaired the senior women’s dinner May 13 in North Hating freshmen housing and gave after-dinner remarks with other speakers and musical selections.

Forest service headquarters moved to Montana Mercantile building
Beaverhead National Forest headquarters will relocate to the Montana Mercantile building. Supervisor A A Simpson announced a national bid from EiMel's was accepted and the move will occur around July 1. The new site includes the lower floor and rear warehouse, while Montana Mercantile moves its stock and fixtures from Hiel's store. The forestry office has occupied Telephone Block for many years.

Suicide Believed for Dillon Man Joe Barber
The body of 46 year old Joe Whitey Barber was found Monday night in his cabin in the Cabbage Patch with a .32 pistolshot wound to the left temple. Friends said illness for months was a motive as Hazel Woods found him after he failed to come to dinner. Barber, a St Louis native living in Dillon for several years, left no note and no relatives could be located.

Opening of fishing season draws anglers to streams
Eaverhead county streams were crowded last weekend as anglers celebrated the season opener. Many local fishermen started Saturday and a larger crowd fanned out Sunday with Butte anglers traveling to the Big Hole and Beaverhead rivers. Fishing conditions were favorable with low water and several fishermen reported limits.
