Montana wheat acreage to be below normal in 1929
Montana farmers report slow wheat seeding with 40 to 60 percent sown in Cascade, Pondera, Glacier, Toole and Gallatin. Flax acreage rises in Poina and other districts. alfalfa and sweet clover show increases. May 1 condition and moisture projections indicate a smaller winter wheat harvest and a 1929 crop of about 1.417 million bushels for rye and related grains.
