Missing Oregon Short Line agent under $2000 shortage
Harry Allen, Dillon post station agent for the Oregon Short Line, is missing after a suspected $2000 shortage. Traveling Auditor J L Craig doubts public disclosure of the exact amount. Allen left with wife and two daughters, later sending funds for rent. Transfers and bonds secure the railroad’s loss. Allen’s fate tied to gambling speculation and a failed attempt in Butte.
