The Russel company performing Michael Strogoff failed to appear at the Grand last night. The performance was poor and demand for tickets was so low that doors were not opened.
News from Palais dated May 11 reports Wilber Hayes moving to Jackson to buy into a livery stable. Severe storm Monday and Tuesday brought a foot of snow, heavy drifts, and harsh weather for cattle. Tom Mulany returned from Salmon with over a hundred steers and several horses. George Pyle traveled to Dillon on business. A Sunday school was organized with Miss Duglass as principal and Miss Harrison as assistant, drawing nearly the entire population of the upper Grasshopper. In Beaverhead County, the Fifth Judicial District Court orders the estate of Geo. White to sell at public auction June 6 at 10 a.m. one third interest in Cumberland and Butte lode claims in Polaris district. Sale cash, deed at purchaser’s expense. Dillon Montana May 7 1903. A.
