Sixth Annual County Meet Set for Friday and Saturday
The sixth annual county grade schools meet will be held here this week with representation from every section of the county. Principal W. W. Wahl reports many schools will enter pupils in education contests or the track meet, weather permitting. Events begin Friday afternoon with language reading oral spelling and declamation contests, prizes donated by Sen. Pear I. Smith. Friday night a one act play and entertainment will honor visiting pupils and feature glee clubs piano and orchestra numbers. Saturday continues with writing spelling arithmetic and music memory contests before the 1 pm track meet at the athletic park coached by Brick Breeden.

Mixed Foursome Tournament Set for Country Club Next Sunday
Beaverhead Fair Board outlines entertainment plans for the Beaverhead county fair in September. A nightly carnival may run at the First National Wool Warehouse, which will also host exhibits apart from livestock. The daily program features races, novelty events, wagon and relay races, aerial acts, and more, promising the best fair yet. Separately at Dillon Country Club, a mixed foursome golf tourney occurs next Sunday as part of a series. About 20 members participated last week, with H. M. Brundage, Warren M. Stone, and Dr. W. H. Stephan tying for first with 68. Over 50 golfers attended, aided by a well-kept course and pro Fred Matzie.

Beaverstar Major Dansie dominated the district track events at Butte, breaking two records and scoring 13 Dillon points. He won the high hurdles in 16.6 seconds and the broad jump at 21 feet 4 inches, while placing second in the high jump. Butte High dominated the meet with 5644 points.

Annual Public School Meet Draws 200 Competitors
