Pasture Renovation Shows Rich Results On Farm Near Watkins
Good management and fertilizer boosted wornout pasture on the John Fleischenreim farm, Watkins Minnesota. After plowing and reseeding with brome and alta fescue, plus 250 pounds of 0-20-20 and 100 pounds of ammonium nitrate per acre, the field yielded two crops of brome the first year and 80 tons of hay available the second. The pasture now supports 33 head of Holstein dairy cows.
