Dillon Gun Club to Host Montana Trapshooting Opener Next Sunday
One of Montana's first registered trapshoots of the season will be held at the Dillon Gun Club fair grounds with top statewide shooters expected. Annual Music Festival Flourishes at State Normal College
The second annual festival at Montana State Normal College auditorium Friday night drew a large crowd. Grace Dburn directed the Men s Glee Club with a varied program earning applause. Soloists included Fred Simons Jim Redburn J Essel Don Gilbert Jack Gaines Jess Whitney and a duet by Donald Kharff and James Veltkamp. The Little Symphony, Ralph McFadden directing, assisted the glee club with Irene Bond Ruth Phelps Norma Hansen Wynafred Jegse Marjorie Tebeau Nathalie Nichols Burmah Ashcraft on piano and violin and in dance performances, with Oriental and Russian pieces featured.

Pioneer Edinger Of Beaverhead Dies At 72 In Butte
Isaac Edinger a Beaverhead County rancher and stock man died Monday in a Butte hospital after a lingering illness at age 72. His body was taken to Brundage Funeral Home in Beaverhead and the funeral was held at the Mason it temple. Interment followed at Mountain View cemetery with active pallbearers named and a long list of honorary pallbearers. Edinger was regarded as a beloved character of Montana’s old-time West.

Windmill Theft Suspect Arrested After Ranch Theft

Deer Lodge won the district stock judging event held Saturday by Beaverhead County High School FFA, totaling 3082 points. Manhattan was runner up with 2960, Whitehall third at 2821, and Dillon fourth at 2813. Deer Lodge topped dairy cattle while Manhattan led beef cattle and horses, and Dillon won sheep. Mrs. Lorena Stone Tovey, beloved Dillon matron and wife of William D. Tovey, died Thursday morning at Barrett Hospital after a ten day illness. Born in Helena on December 1 1898 she moved to Dillon as a child and later taught in Lima and Wisdom before her 15 year marriage to Mr. Tovey.
