State assists farmers with seed loan liens waivers
Montana farmers can obtain federal seed loans more quickly as the state board of hail insurance waives its lien priority on delinquent assessments. Officials will sign waivers or authorize county treasurers to issue them, while preserving the board’s right to collect later. The legislature also amended hail insurance rules, removing crop lien requirements for unencumbered land and setting new dates for premium reductions.
