Montana tackles horse thefts with expanded force
The Montana state board of stock commissioners plans to add inspectors to its 44 agents as it tightens actions against horse rustlers. D W Raymond says 10 suspects await trial in multiple counties with Fergus county reporting the boldest thefts. Legislation provided more funding, boosting arrests and convictions last year, while stock yard improvements advance along the O W R N and Oregon Short Line routes.
