A federal report shows Montana sheep producers recovered from a drop in 1950. In 1951 Montana sheared 14,569,000 pounds of wool, up 15 percent from 1950, due to more sheep and heavier fleeces. The wool crop sold for 15,589,000 dollars, with an average price of 1.07 dollars per pound. Montana ranks third in U S wool output behind Texas and Wyoming.
