Elkhorn mining district shows strong promise says Ripley
E J Ripley returning from Elkhorn claims the district will become a major mining area. A tunnel on the Idanha claim near Park property has reached 748 feet and cut a 27-foot ore ledge with assays around 2.5 copper, 17 to 20 gold, and 0.58 ounces silver. A second tunnel site on Wise river side could reach 1000 feet depth. both tunnels aim to tap pay ore with dry workings and water power nearby. Local investors Menara Ripley Felt Grant Haw back the plan, with surface shows favorable indications and experts predicting a bright future. A snowbound journey to camp proved challenging yet fruitful. Additionally, a marriage license was issued for Addie Jones and Matthew Reis, wed later that day.
