Death of Mrs. Mary Russell Perkins Hooker
Mary Russell Perkins Hooker wife of Archdeacon Hooker former rector of St James Episcopal church Dillon died at her Helena home Sunday evening March 2 after a long illness. Funeral at St Peters Helena March 4 with interment there. Her life enriched Dillon from 1887 to 1911 shaping library, Shakespear Club, needlework classes and St James rectory hospitality. She belonged to Beecher Hale and Stowe families and supported public library and youth work. Her memory lives in the community through her gifts and acts.

The Dillon Horse Sales company hosted a seventh annual midwinter sale with 500 horses and about 300 cattle exchanged for substantial money. Top prices reached 400 dollars for a team and 250 for a single horse as buyers from multiple states attended.

Car Collision: Mrs. Flynn Injured in Snowstorm Mixup
In a heavy snow last Thursday evening George Stimpson's auto struck Mrs. Thomas Flynn's horse and buggy. Flynn suffered painful but not serious injuries. Stimpson and bystander Herbert Wheat helped escort Flynn to town and medical aid arrived. Flynn is recovering at her sister Mrs. Rose Heavy's home.

Young Woman Dies After Illness in Dillon
Miss Deela Ayers died this morning at Curtis hospital after a brief illness. She had traveled from Butte to visit a friend in Vandalia Michigan, contracted pneumonia, and was hospitalized upon arriving in Dillon. Her remains will be sent to Vandalia for interment. she was 28, born in Vandalia, and had lived on Eastland Bench with both parents now deceased.

Milk for French orphans drives early wartime charity
Mrs M A Walker reports the weeklong drive raised 107.77 for milk purchases for French war orphans. The training school led with 53.11 and Miss McDonald’s room at 10. The St Rose guild gave 24.63. the rest came from bottle collections in the business district.
