Montana Property Owners Face Critical Budget Season
Montana property owners face a pivotal budget season as government services expand and school finances strain. The Montana Taxpayers Association warns of rising property taxes unless extraordinary vigilance curbs deficits and debt, noting oil revenue and state leases once eased costs but now falter amid litigation and shifting budgets. Public officials set tentative schedules for July hearings, August budget adoptions, and open budget reviews, with final levies due after a series of preliminary readings and hearings.
