Beaver Dams Removed from Red Rock Creek
Removal of 84 beaver dams from the Red Rock creek drainage completed last week as part of the Montana Fish and Game department grayling habitat program. Perry Nelson, leader of the project at Bozeman, says a sanctuary above Lima dam will help perpetuate the vanishing native grayling. The fish once filled the Missouri drainage above Great Falls but declined due to exotic species and other factors.
