Beav erhead primary shows rural turnout outpacing Dillon precincts
In Beaverhead county the presidential primary yielded about 489 votes with 335 from rural precincts and 154 in Dillon. Democrats counted 190 ballots while Republicans logged 299. One socialist vote occurred and no farmer labor votes were cast. Lima led with 76, Dillon South 56, Wisdom 46. McAdoo led with 166, Smith 14, Wheeler 56, Walsh and Walsh also listed.

Violators fined for fishing license confusion in Montana
Mel Edmunds and Chester Denton were arrested by deputy game and fish warden Tom Edmunds for falsifying residence licenses to fish in Montana streams. Each man paid a $25 fine. They are part of a Barretts area crew. Edmunds urged travelers from Idaho and elsewhere to secure non residence licenses to fish or face arrest and fines.

Death of Frank Tessier Felt Across Dillon
The 21 year old Frank Tessier died in Seattle from heart trouble after completing high school there. He was the youngest son of Mr and Mrs John Tessier of Dillon and is survived by two brothers Alderic and Wilford and sister Mrs J E Nelson. Alderic will bring the remains to Dillon for funeral services.

Clarence L Williams shot George Harrison with a double barreled shotgun on North Railroad Avenue near Center street after a quarrel over a revolver and money. Williams was arrested, pleaded not guilty, and held without bail for district court. Inquest found death from shotgun wound. Both men longtime Beaverhead County residents and former friends.

Memorial Day was quietly observed in Dillon with a procession led by the American Legion and Dillon band from City Hall through the business district. Activities at the depot lawn featured patriotic songs and an address by Linden McCullough, then a ceremony at the cemetery decorated graves with flowers and flags as taps sounded.

H J Hamill was the successful bidder for the normal college library building project in Dillon with a bid of 89 621. Well Known Attorney Duffy Dies in Anaconda
J. H. Duffy pioneer attorney of Anaconda died at his home after weeks of illness. Two months earlier he slipped on ice, hurt his head and never fully recovered. He was well known in Dillon and appeared in local courts many times.

Normal College to Hire Coach This Summer
Bruce A. Hollister, a former Montana State College star, will join the Normal College as full time coach and trainer. He will devote most of his time to athletics and offer a course to prepare students to coach at the schools where they teach.
