Crows Raid Madison Valley Horses Told by English George
A Montana reminiscence recalls the 1870s Madison Valley horse raid by Crows led by a pair of trackers. English George and Madison John pursued, followed a tunnel route through Indian Creek, and staged a river crossing plan to reclaim the ponies near Mammoth Hot Springs. They returned with the stolen stock, ending Crow horse raids in the Madison area.
