No Comment on Labor Clean-Up in Congress Debate
In Washington some Congress members say the clean-up movement in organized labor is faltering as defiance rises in the teamsters and bakery workers unions. The debate could widen Senate Rackets Committee inquiries and spur new labor reform legislation including ending compulsory unionism and removing antitrust exemptions. The McClellan Committee prepares hearings on New York rackets and power unions, while economic drive in Congress continues due to incomplete appropriation bills.
