Maughan Family Pioneers of Montana
Logan Utah to Drummond Montana in 1882 moved by Peter Maughan and J D Naeff. Sub contractors on the Northern Pacific during construction. Russell L Maughan, an army aviator, completed a coast to coast dawn to dust flight to San Francisco. Naeff remained near Ralston for forty years after moving to the Big Hole basin in 1885.

Great Falls resident Mrs. Catherine Rolland, born Catherine McGee in Ireland, marked her centennial on July 6. Now living with daughter Mrs. T. J. Kelly at the Federal Hotel, she recalls witnessing the locomotive era and four wars, after leaving Ireland at age 12 aboard an emigrant voyage with her uncle.
