Camporee Promotes Conservation Education For Scouts
In Dillon area mountains the Boy Scout Camporee May 14–16 gathered 400 scouts and 50 adults from nine Vigilante Council groups. Officials from wildlife forestry and soil conservation agencies led stations on forest fire control wildlife and soil resources while Explorer Scouts guided groups along a Conservation Trail and the event aligned with Eisenhower's 1953 conservation appeal to Boy Scouts.
